If you're a Singapore SME running LinkedIn marketing for overseas customers, you're probably leaving SGD 14,000 to SGD 42,000 a year on the table. The Market Readiness Assistance grant covers up to 70% of LinkedIn agency and content services for overseas market promotion, capped at SGD 20,000 per overseas market. Most founders either don't know it applies to LinkedIn or assume the application is too painful.
Neither is true. LinkedIn marketing is one of the cleanest fits for the MRA grant's Overseas Market Promotion pillar. The application takes 5 to 10 hours. The math is straightforward. And the grant pays out in real Singapore dollars once approved.
This page covers what the grant actually pays for on LinkedIn, the worked numbers for typical SME spend, eligibility, and the four-step process from MRA application to campaign launch. If you'd rather skip the reading and talk it through, our team has walked Singapore SMEs through this many times.
From 1 April 2026, the MRA grant covers 70% of eligible LinkedIn marketing service costs for Singapore SMEs entering overseas markets, capped at SGD 20,000 per market. Eligible spend: agency management fees, content creation, ads campaign management, profile optimisation, and overseas lead generation work. Not eligible: the LinkedIn ad spend you pay the platform directly. Most SMEs running one overseas market campaign recover SGD 7,000 to SGD 14,000. SMEs targeting three markets can recover up to SGD 42,000 in a single financial year.
What the MRA grant covers for LinkedIn marketing in 2026
From 1 April 2026, the MRA grant covers up to 70% of eligible LinkedIn marketing service costs for Singapore SMEs targeting overseas customers, capped at SGD 20,000 per overseas market under the Overseas Market Promotion pillar. Eligible services include agency fees, content production, campaign strategy, profile work, and reporting. The LinkedIn ad spend itself (what you pay the platform per click or impression) is paid by the company and is not reimbursable.
The grant works on a reimbursement basis. You commission the work, pay the agency, run the campaign, then submit a claim with invoices and proof of payment to EnterpriseSG. After review, EnterpriseSG reimburses 70% of the eligible amount up to the cap. Reimbursement typically lands in your bank account 8 to 12 weeks after the claim is approved.

What's not eligible
- LinkedIn ad spend paid directly to LinkedIn (clicks, impressions, message sends)
- Content unrelated to the overseas market you applied for
- Activity that started or completed before you submitted your MRA application
- Activity targeting the domestic Singapore market

How much you actually save (with worked SME math)
A Singapore SME spending SGD 20,000 on eligible LinkedIn services over 12 months for one overseas market recovers SGD 14,000 at the 70% support rate. SMEs targeting two markets at full cap recover SGD 28,000. Three markets at full cap recover SGD 42,000 in a single financial year. The math is identical regardless of which overseas market you target.
The full worked example for a Singapore B2B SME running LinkedIn marketing into Australia:
| Line item | Annual cost (SGD) | MRA eligible? |
|---|---|---|
| LinkedIn agency retainer (12 months × SGD 1,500) | SGD 18,000 | Yes |
| Additional content production (12 months × SGD 200) | SGD 2,400 | Yes (capped at SGD 20K total) |
| LinkedIn ad spend (12 months × SGD 4,000) | SGD 48,000 | No (paid to LinkedIn directly) |
| Total programme cost | SGD 68,400 | |
| MRA-eligible spend (capped at SGD 20K) | SGD 20,000 | |
| MRA reimbursement (70%) | SGD 14,000 | |
| Net cost to company | SGD 54,400 |
If the same company targets Indonesia and Vietnam in addition to Australia, the eligible spend is per market. Each market's claim is reviewed independently. Full cap on all three would return SGD 42,000 in MRA reimbursement against SGD 60,000 of agency spend across the three markets. The remaining SGD 18,000 of net agency cost gets stretched across 18 months of overseas growth campaigns.
Eligibility: which Singapore SMEs qualify
Your Singapore company qualifies for MRA grant funding on LinkedIn marketing if it meets four criteria: registered and operating in Singapore, at least 30% locally owned, group annual turnover not exceeding SGD 100 million (or group employment not exceeding 200 employees), and entering an overseas market where you have less than SGD 100,000 in sales in each of the past three years.
The eligibility checklist for the company:
- Registered with ACRA and operating in Singapore
- At least 30% local equity (Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents)
- Group annual turnover under SGD 100 million OR group employment under 200 employees
- Not a non-profit, charity, or shell company
- Not a subsidiary of a government-linked entity or statutory board
And for the target overseas market:
- Sales to the target overseas market under SGD 100,000 in each of the past three years
- The activity is genuinely for overseas market expansion (not domestic Singapore audiences)
- The activity has not started or completed before MRA application submission

Book a 30-minute MRA callThe 4-step process from MRA application to campaign launch
The end-to-end process runs over four phases: MRA application (week 1-2), EnterpriseSG approval (weeks 3-10), campaign execution (months 3-9), and claim submission with reimbursement (months 9-12). Total timeline from kickoff to first reimbursement received is roughly 3 to 6 months.
Step 1: Application and planning (weeks 1-2)
You define the target overseas market and budget. We draft the LinkedIn campaign activity plan in the format EnterpriseSG expects: objectives, target audience definition, planned activities, budget breakdown, expected outcomes. You submit through the Business Grants Portal using CorpPass.
Step 2: EnterpriseSG review (weeks 3-10)
EnterpriseSG reviews your application and may come back with clarification questions. We support the responses if needed. Approval timeline averages 4 to 8 weeks. Some industries take longer due to additional review.
Step 3: Campaign execution (months 3-9)
After approval, we kick off the campaign. Profile optimisation for the overseas market, content production, ad campaign launch, and active management. Monthly performance reports go into your records for claim documentation. The minimum sensible programme runs 6 months to generate meaningful pipeline data.
Step 4: Claim submission and reimbursement (months 9-12)
Once the campaign milestones are complete, you submit the MRA claim with invoices, proof of payment, and activity documentation. EnterpriseSG reviews and reimburses 70% of eligible spend up to the cap. Reimbursement typically arrives 8 to 12 weeks after claim approval.
